The Bay Shore Business Improvement District works to enhance, support, and strengthen Downtown Bay Shore for the businesses, property owners, residents, and visitors who make our community thrive.

Through strategic investments, ongoing maintenance, beautification projects, business support, and community partnerships, the BID helps create a downtown district that is clean, welcoming, vibrant, and positioned for long-term success.

The BID works collaboratively with the Town of Islip, local property owners, business owners, and community organizations to identify opportunities, guide improvements, and support initiatives that contribute to the economic vitality and overall experience of Downtown Bay Shore.

What Does the Bay Shore BID Do?

The Bay Shore BID focuses on projects and services that improve the downtown business district and support the people who live, work, shop, dine, and visit here.

These efforts are designed to strengthen Downtown Bay Shore as a destination while preserving the character and community spirit that make it unique.

Key areas of focus include:

  • Maintaining a clean, attractive, and welcoming downtown.

As the Bay Shore Business Improvement District continues to move forward with its revitalization efforts, we are in the process of finalizing a new Board of Directors.

We are seeking passionate, community-minded individuals who are interested in playing an active role in the future of Downtown Bay Shore.

The BID Board provides oversight and strategic direction while supporting the organization’s mission, initiatives, and long-term goals. Board members work collaboratively with local businesses, property owners, community partners, and the Town of Islip to help guide the continued growth and success of the district.

The Role of the BID Board

Board members will help support and guide efforts to:

  • Enhance the appearance and cleanliness of the business district.

  • Support local businesses through marketing, promotions, and special events.

  • Advocate for improvements that strengthen Downtown Bay Shore.

  • Encourage economic vitality and long-term business growth.

  • Improve the downtown experience for residents, visitors, and local stakeholders.

  • Guide strategic initiatives that support the BID’s mission and priorities.

  • Work alongside the Town of Islip, property owners, business owners, and community partners.

Serving on the Board is an opportunity to bring your ideas, perspective, and experience to projects that will have a meaningful impact on Downtown Bay Shore.

Building on Our Progress

Over the past several months, the BID has made tremendous progress as it prepares for its next chapter.

This work has included reviewing and refining district boundaries, engaging with local businesses and property owners, and working closely with Town officials.

The new Board of Directors will help build upon this foundation, guide future priorities, and identify new opportunities to continue strengthening the downtown community.

Together, we can continue building a stronger, cleaner, and more vibrant future for Downtown Bay Shore.
