Exciting progress is underway in Downtown Bay Shore. As the Bay Shore Business Improvement District continues its revitalization efforts and prepares for its next chapter, the BID is seeking passionate, community-minded individuals who are interested in serving on its new Board of Directors.
The BID Board plays an important role in guiding initiatives that support local businesses, enhance the downtown experience, and strengthen Bay Shore’s position as one of Long Island’s premier destinations. Board members work collaboratively with the Town of Islip, property owners, business owners, and community partners to provide strategic direction and support the district’s long-term goals.

Building on the BID’s Recent Progress
Throughout 2026, the Bay Shore BID has continued to invest in projects designed to improve the appearance, functionality, and visitor experience of the downtown district.
Recent and ongoing efforts include the restoration and painting of decorative lampposts, maintenance of flower beds and hanging baskets, tree trimming, and the expansion of beautification projects along Union Boulevard.
The BID has also maintained enhanced downtown cleaning services, including sidewalk and public-space debris removal, landscaping maintenance, and regular care for seasonal plantings.
Additional initiatives include the continued publication of the Bay Shore Pocket Guide, planning for a comprehensive Downtown Wayfinding Sign Program, and the future installation of 13 new garbage receptacles throughout Main Street and Union Boulevard.
Over the past several months, the BID has also worked to review and refine district boundaries, engage with local property owners and businesses, and collaborate closely with Town of Islip officials. This important groundwork is helping prepare the organization for its next phase of leadership and revitalization.
